Woman arrested for making birthday cake in Egypt

According to local Egyptian media, police in Cairo detained a woman for painting "naziba" on a cake, who was later released on bail.

According to media reports, pictures of human genitals were made on the cake and pictures of the cake were shared on social media which later went viral.

According to reports, a birthday party at a Cairo sports club featured a picture of human genitals and an underwear on the cake.  When photos of the cake were shared on social media, some quarters started objecting to it.

After the photos went viral on social media, police took action and arrested Baker, who was later released on bail.

The baker denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating "Similar, baseless allegations concerning Baker's activities have been made more than once.

Egypt's top religious group, Dar al-Fatah, has said that Islam forbids the production of items that resemble sexual organs.

"Anything that resembles the genitals is against our values," Darlafta wrote on his Facebook page.

Police are also questioning several other women who attended the party.  The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports is investigating the club's involvement in the incident where the party was held.

Nagd al-Burai, an Egyptian human rights lawyer, said in a Twitter message that the incident confirms that a section of society backed by the state is using personal liberties under the guise of protecting national values.  It is about to end
